“As part of our mission to improve health and well-being in partnership with our members, patients, and community, Regions Hospital has had a long-standing commitment to energy efficiency and conservation. In addition to managing and maintaining the physical environment in the hospital (1.7M square feet, 540 staffed beds), we also work to reduce our energy usage in alignment with our Xcel Commercial Efficiency Program and sustainability goals, while improving patient care and experience in mind every step of the way.
What is your favorite natural place in Minnesota?
Regions has a very deep connection to Saint Paul, so pretty much any outdoor space in Saint Paul is a favorite for us.
Share your hopes for Minnesota’s natural places with the Upstream community:Â
Our hope is that our natural areas can support healthy Minnesotans and healthy communities. Natural areas should support our health by providing clean air to breathe and clean water to drink. Natural areas should be plentiful and accessible to Minnesotans so we can enjoy the physical and mental health benefits of being outdoors. As far as wisdom goes, starting small and working together have been key for the Regions energy program and the HealthPartners sustainability program as a whole! Even though Regions is a beast of a building on its own, Tony and team are always willing to lend a hand to smaller sites that could benefit from their time and expertise.
